Quick Introduction

Essence of the Wild is a mini-game about surviving by harvesting the world and using your resources to craft better equipment. 

Currently, it is just a prototype to showcase the Inventory and Crafting systems with other supportive placeholder systems and art to keep it running. 


Features

  • Inventory system with sorting and discarding.
  • Crafting systems with 3 recipes.
  • Crafted weapons are equippable (Left-Click weapon in inventory) and have more damage than your starting stick.

Note 1: If you craft with a full inventory, item will be dropped on the floor.

Note 2: If you discard items from inventory, they are lost forever.

Note 3: My plan was to have different enemies be weak to Ice/Fire/Other elemental damage to give meaning to the elements/essences. However, there was no time to implement that feature.

Technology Used

  • Game Engine: Unity
  • Minimalistic Art: GIMP, and Player Sprite taken from Kenny's free 2D sprites.
